The Sweethearts of Kemp

The Stingerettes are more than just a drill team—they are the heartbeat of Kemp spirit and tradition. Known as the Sweethearts of Kemp, the Stingerettes bring precision, passion, and poise to every performance, from halftime shows to community events. Their dedication to excellence, teamwork, and school pride makes them a beloved part of our school community.

Whether dancing under the Friday night lights or representing Kemp in competitions, the Stingerettes embody grace, strength, and commitment.

The Stingerette Experience

    Our coed drill team program spans 7th–12th grade, building dancers, leaders, and performers every step of the way.
  • Competition Excellence
    We compete at local, state, and national competitions, bringing home awards and representing Kemp with pride and precision.
  • Spirit & School Pride
    From football halftimes to pep rallies and parades, we bring energy and entertainment to support our Yellowjackets and connect with our community all season long.

    Our team masters multiple dance genres—lyrical, kick line, hip hop, jazz, and pom—showcasing skill and artistry in every performance.

She has spent the past 10 years at Kemp ISD, making a meaningful impact in various roles. After serving as a District Technician, Trisha transitioned into teaching and has been a CTE (Career and Technical Education) teacher for the last five years.

 

This will be Trisha’s second year as the Stingerette Director. She is excited to continue building upon the longstanding tradition of excellence that the Stingerettes Drill Team is known for, bringing her passion and commitment to this important leadership role.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University in 2019 and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Educational Leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University.

With seven years of teaching experience and nine years involved in coaching junior high, high school, and competitive cheer and dance teams, Mackenzie is passionate about fostering a school culture full of spirit and pride. This is her second year supporting the Stingerettes, and she looks forward to helping the team grow in skill, confidence, and camaraderie.
