Attention: Phone Numbers Change on March 20th

Kemp ISD is moving to a new phone system on Wednesday, March 20th.  The expected switch is scheduled between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Wednesday.  At that time, most of the numbers used to dial into the district will be changing. Please click the headline to see a list of the new numbers that should be used following the transition taking place on the 20th.

Texas Women State Power-lifting

Congratulations to our powerlifting girls who did amazing at state this past weekend! Andrea Beasley placed 3rd, Alicia Dennis placed 3rd, and Bethany Alexander placed 6th. Great job girls, we will miss Y'all next year! Alicia Dennis also set the Texas State Powerlifting record for Squat in the 123-pound weight class with a squat of 365 pounds.

Dramatic Jackets win District 18 3A One Act Play Contest

Kemp HS won the District 18 3A One Act Play contest on March 8, 2019, with The White Snake at Corsicana High School. Those receiving awards were: Kamryn Lewis--All-Star Cast and Matthew Floyd-- Hon. Mention All-Star Cast. The show is under the direction of Maggie Mizell, Meghan Cantrell, and Marsha Pool.
Those in the cast/crew are Kamryn Lewis, Matthew Floyd, Brianna Walters, Cole Handy, Jayda Simon, Marcus Aguilar, Andrew Haertel, Zach Harris, K.C. Kemp High School will be competing for BiDistrict on March 22 at Corsicana High School. The contest begins at 10: am.

Special Education Parent Training

Thursday, March 21st @ 4 PM-Teaching Social Skills, Kemp ISD is offering information sessions for our parents of students who are receiving special
education services. We hope to give you some tools, activities, and ideas that will help you with your child’s development. The sessions will be at the Kemp Education Service Center (KESC) at 204 West 17th Street, from 4-5 PM in the afternoon.

The Drama Department at Kemp High School was visited by J.Quinton Johnson.

The Drama Department at Kemp High School was visited by J.Quinton Johnson, a Broadway and film actor on September 17. He played Hercules Mulligan/James Madison in the Broadway hit show, Hamilton. His latest film is Last Flag Flying with Bryan Cranston, Steve Carrel, and Laurence Fishburne.
Mr. Johnson conducted a musical theatre workshop for the students and a question and answer session. He is the former student of Maggie Mizell, KHS Theatre Director.

The National Jr Honor Society of KJHS is currently holding a TOY DRIVE through December 15. Please bring any toy donation by the Jr High office any weekday. All donations will go to help local children.

Intermediate Heart Challenge, American Heart Association

Intermediate students will be participating in the Kids Heart Challenge (previously Jump Rope for Heart) November 7th - December 7th. The Kemp Yellowjacket Varsity football team will play Lone Oak, Thursday, Nov. 15th at 7 pm at Royce City ISD Stadium. Kemp will be the visiting team.
Prices: $3 students / $5 adults
Passes: THSCA, District 6-3A and 5-3A, Senior Citizens, Veterans.
