Kemp ISD 2nd Annual Food Drive

We collected 4,863 items as a district! We want to thank our staff, students, and parents for their support!
The food will go to River of Life Church, Hillcrest Baptist Church, United Methodist Church, Rockin Country Church. As they will be distributing the food to the families from Christmas 4 Kids December 14th along with their gifts, at the Annual Christmas with Santa event.
Other contributors for this event are, Dollar General Kemp & Lively, Rowdy’s, Slappin Good BBQ, New Horizons Day Care, Rainy Days Sublimation Transfers. All of these donations help take care of our kids.

Band Mattress Fundraiser

KEMP, TX - If you or someone you know is looking to replace a bed in your home, now is the time. The Kemp High School Band is excited to announce they will be hosting their 1st Annual one-day Mattress Fundraiser on Sunday, December 8th, from 11am - 6pm. Kemp Athletic Department

In our efforts to spread Christmas cheer, the Kemp Athletic Department is hosting a toy drive for children and families in need in Kemp. The drive will take place from November 18, 2019, through December 6, 2019. If you are able to, please bring one new and unwrapped toy to the high school.

Football Playoffs Round 1

Kemp Yellowjackets Varsity football will play Pottsboro in the first round of playoffs. Gameday is Thursday, November 14th at McKinney ISD Stadium starting at 7 pm. Ticket Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Parking is $5.

Football Playoff T-shirt

We will be placing our order for football playoff shirts on Friday. All money and orders must be turned in to the high school office by 3 pm on Friday or your order will not be placed. Short sleeve shirts will be $20 and the long sleeve will be $25. Please submit orders ASAP.

Book Fair coming to the Primary Campus

Kemp Primary will be hosting the first Scholastic book fair of the year. Students can shop at the Book Fair during their library time and during our special events. Be sure to stop by the photo booth and share your awesome pictures.

Kemp I.S.D. has AWESOME Teachers and today some of our finest were recognized for their hard work and implementation of our FAST LLAMA Training (Positive Classroom Supports for Classroom Management), Marzano’s 9 Effective Teaching Strategies which focuses on RIGOR and ENGAGEMENT and for strong communications in using our Living Tree Communication software to inform parents and stakeholders of current classroom updates.

Residence Information Needed

To comply with recent state legislation and KISD requirements, we are respectfully requesting recent proof of residence from our school families. This may be in the form of a recent utility bill (electricity, gas, or water) or lease/mortgage documentation dated within the last 30 days. You may email this documentation to your campus registrar or send it with your student to submit to the school office. If you have students on multiple campuses, please note the student's name(s) and campus. All documentation must be received by October 18th. Please call your student's campus if you have any questions.

LivingTree Information for Parents

Parents, please watch this short video to make sure you are getting the most out of LivingTree. If you missed your welcome email to get the mobile app or temporary password don't worry, on Monday, another round of welcome emails will be sent out to the primary contact of every student who has not logged into the system yet. Parents, please don't mistake the emails you are already getting via LivingTree for the full LivingTree experience. To get the full experience lookout for the welcome email mentioned in the video and follow the instructions.

Kemp ISD District Wide Bus Safety

Kemp ISD Families,

In the spirit of school safety, we want to inform you that we are implementing a new Bus Code of Conduct for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year. The district is implementing these changes to ensure that our students are safe on all of our buses because safety continues to be our number one priority in Kemp ISD.

Training on the new Bus Code of Conduct with our student bus riders will be provided at the campuses on the following days. Families of students are welcome and encouraged to attend the training as well.

Kemp Primary School (Grades PK-2) 3/26/19 during P.E. classes
Kemp Intermediate School (Grades 3-5) 3/29/19 during Social Studies classes
Kemp Junior High School (Grades (6-8) 4/1/19 during Science/Social Studies classes
Kemp High School (Grades 9-12) 3/27/19 at 12:00-12:30

Please see the attached Bus Code of Conduct that will be implemented for the remainder of this school year. Contact your campus administrators if you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes. Our job as adults is to keep our students safe. This will be accomplished by all of us working together.

Lastly and importantly, school transportation services are a privilege. Students not acting in accordance with our revised Bus Code of Conduct, are subject to losing bus privileges. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your help!

Please Note Parents: Your signature is required acknowledging that you have received a copy of the revised Bus Code of Conduct and your signed parental form must be on file within three weeks of receiving the letter. If the signature is not received after three weeks then it will result in a loss of bus privileges.

This goes for ALL students, all students at some point or another ride a bus whether it is to go home or attend a field trip or for sporting events. All signatures must be on file by April 22nd in order to continue to ride the bus.

Attention: Phone Numbers Change on March 20th

Kemp ISD is moving to a new phone system on Wednesday, March 20th.  The expected switch is scheduled between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Wednesday.  At that time, most of the numbers used to dial into the district will be changing. Please click the headline to see a list of the new numbers that should be used following the transition taking place on the 20th.

Dr. Lisa A. Gonzales named superintendent of Kemp schools

Thursday night, at a special board meeting, the Kemp ISD Board of Trustees named, Dr. Lisa A. Gonzales, as superintendent of Kemp schools. Dr. Gonzales has 34 years of experience in education, most recently as the Superintendent of Schools at Odem-Edroy ISD where she has served for the last 7 years. She has previously held a variety of educational roles such as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction (Bowie ISD), Director of Special Education (Wylie ISD and Hillsboro ISD), Principal (Hillsboro ISD), and various elementary and secondary teaching positions. District personnel are excited about the wealth of experience that Dr. Gonzales can contribute, and look forward to new ideas coupled with the exciting things that are already happening at Kemp ISD.

Kemp ISD will begin Summer hours, Tuesday, May 28th until Friday, August 2nd. The hours will be from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and will be closed on Fridays. The District will also be closed the week of July 4th. Have a safe and enjoyable Summer!

FFA Watermelon Fundraiser

Come out Wednesday, July 3rd to get a watermelon starting at 8 am in the Kemp HS parking lot. They are $10 each, all proceeds will benefit the Kemp FFA Chapter at the Texas State Convention.
