Summer is just around the corner and Kemp ISD is excited to share that from June 6th - 23rd, *Monday through Thursday*, breakfast will be served from 7:30-8:00 and lunch will be served from 12:05-12:35 at the Kemp High School cafeteria.
The Summer Meal Programs are offering healthy meals for kids 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old at no cost. Find additional sites near you by visiting SummerFood.org or Text FOOD to 304-304. Please share this with friends, family, and community members.
The purpose of this letter is to remind our parents/guardians that flu season is in full swing. Here at Kemp ISD, our efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment for our students and staff are on-going. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is still encouraging individuals with flu-like symptoms to remain home and/or visit their health care provider.
Kemp ISD will be closed on Friday, April 15th and Monday, April 18th. These are unused Bad Weather Days on the KISD School Calendar. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 19th. Have a wonderful and safe extended holiday weekend!

All training will be virtual, on the third Tuesday of the month, throughout the 2021 - 2022 school year. Attention Yellowjacket Fans: Jacket Radio and KHS JacketTV are teaming up with NFHS to try something new. We are still working on the details, however, we wanted to share the exciting news! This collaboration allows Jacket fans to watch all live YellowJacket home games in volleyball, basketball, football, and soccer *games happening at KHS gym and stadium. Fast, easy, accessible Covid-19 testing for all. They do an oral swab instead of a nasal swab and results take around 48 hours. Scroll down when you get to the page and it will show you all the current locations.

As a school district, Kemp ISD looks forward to welcoming students back to school on September 1. Thank you for your patience as we work through the process of creating a plan that allows the safest return to school. As the public health crisis continues, we have been planning for the opening of the 2020-21 school year with a focus on the health, safety and well-being of our staff, students and community. Kemp ISD hereby gives notice to the public that it intends to file the following application(s) for federal grant funds with the Texas Education Agency. If your facility is a private school, you could be eligible for Title I, Part A. If you are a private non-profit school that includes nonprofit facilities for neglected and delinquent, you could be eligible for multiple parts of the grant funding. Through IDEA B eligible students could be entitled to receive qualified services.

Texas Elks Camp provides special needs and foster children an opportunity to try new things, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. Campers are encouraged to make their own decisions, become more independent and accept new challenges. Any child with special needs or in foster care age 7 to 16, who is a resident of the state of Texas is eligible for admission to the Texas Elks Camp. No child is denied acceptance on the basis of his or her income level, ethnic origin, race, creed, color or religion. There is no fee. Campers are accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Kemp ISD will hold a public meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, December 14, 2020 in the Kemp Administration Building at 905 S. Main Street, Kemp, TX 75143. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss Kemp ISD’s rating on the state’s financial accountability system.
For home Volleyball games, tickets will be sold at the gate. They will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Under UIL guidelines we can only allow 50% capacity in the gym. 160 will be allowed on the home side and 130 will be allowed on the visitors side. NO PASSES WILL BE ACCEPTED BESIDES SILVER JACKET PASSES. To help with social distancing, the seats marked with tape should not be used. All COVID protocol will be posted and should be followed.
We plan on going to online ticketing in the near future, however that option is not available at this time. You will be given notification when we switch to the online pre sale option.
The enrollment process for Head Start and Pre-K will now be done online. Last week, the Texas Education Agency announced the first steps that will eventually lead to students returning to Texas public schools. We are writing to touch base with parents about Kemp ISD’s back-to-school plans. Please click the headline for more information.
RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION is now open in Parent Portal for students who plan to return to KISD for the 2020-2021 school year. In addition to completing registration, all families must submit proof of residence - i.e. utility bill, lease/mortgage agreement - dated within 30 days of submission and/or the first day of school.
For directions to establish a Parent Portal account or access to your Student Portal ID, please fill out the request form at the link below. Note, the email address submitted in the request form must match the parent email in our system. All requests will be processed within 48 hours of receipt.
