This is my fourth year working at Kemp Junior High, and my second year as their Spanish Teacher. I am so excited to teach Spanish to our Kemp JH students as they will learn not only a foreign language, but different cultures and traditions from Spanish speaking countries.  I am excited to instill in my students the importance of cultural literacy as they will learn to reflect upon their own culture, culture of others, and culture in general. I am a fully bilingual (English-Spanish) person, and have also taken Italian classes as a third language.

After High School in Mexico, I studied English as a Second Language (ESL) at Lakeview Learning Center, part of the Harry S. Truman College in Chicago, IL. I taught ESL (English as a Second Language) EC-9 grade from 1992 to 1998 at a Catholic school in Mexico. I  obtained a Certificate in Management from South Texas College (STC), McAllen, TX. I graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Bachelor of General Studies.

My message is that every child has the potential of learning a language other than English at a young age, which will give them a sense of confidence, increase their self-esteem, and open more opportunities for a brighter future. Having a better understanding of our multicultural world makes better leaders of tomorrow. "Be local, think global," is one of my favorite quotes.

If there is anything I can do for you and your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.

Gracias. Hasta luego.
