Background: A little about me: I was born in Neubrucke, Germany. As my father was in the Army, we lived in different locations. I've lived in Germany, Maryland, Georgia, Ohio. We moved to Texas in 1977. I graduated from Kemp in 1980. I have 5 sons, all of whom graduated from Kemp. I have 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons who will be attending Kemp schools. I earned my Associates degree from TVCC in Athens. I earned my Bachelors degree from UT in Tyler. I am entering my 18th year of teaching, all of which has all been accrued with Kemp ISD. I taught 2nd grade for 4 years, and taught 3rd grade for 11 years, and this is my 3rd year teaching 4th grade.
Teaching to me is not a job, it is a part of me. I love being around children, and knowing that I may play a small, yet integral part in bettering their lives, gives me immense pleasure, and gratification. I do not look at them as just being my students during our time together, I look at them as being mine. They are a blessing given to me to help nurture. With our working together, your child has no where to go, but up!!
Thank you for sharing your child with me.
Message: " It is through our mistakes that true learning takes place! So don't be afraid to make them!"
I try to instill in the students that making mistakes is not a sin, but a learning experience. If we never made mistakes we would never have anything more to learn.
