About Mrs. Marlar

I am in my 30th year as a teacher.  I began my career in 1988 after graduating from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  I have taught a variety of subjects and grades including: 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th, with the majority of time spent in Jr. High Language Arts.  My husband and I just recently bought some acreage in Kemp and built our dream "retirement" home where we enjoy hanging out on the back porch with our dogs and watching our cows. While inside, we love drinking coffee, watching TV, and hanging out with my 70 pound standard poodle, Sophie.  We have two sons, Taylor and Tanner.  Taylor and his wife, Jackie, live near Houston and have 3 precious children, Felicity, Colette, and Vincent.  They call me Gigi, and I love spending time with them.  My youngest son, Tanner, and his wife, Katie, live in Plano where they are busy being Engineers.  Their dog, Maple, is like my 4th grandchild that I love spending time with.  I'm so excited to be at the Junior High and to be a Kemp Yellowjacket!!!
